[KPhotoAlbum] KPA 5.2 crashes after reading new photos

Hi Martin,

to get full debuginfo you have to pull in additional repos for opensuse:
this: http://download.opensuse.org/debug/distribution/leap/42.2/repo/oss/
and this: http://download.opensuse.org/debug/update/leap/42.2/oss/
(I had to do this for some libroffice-debugging recently.)

My 2 cents to pin down, what is happening:

The thumbs are stored in ~/bilder/.thumbnails/...

Have you tried this:
fill a blank directory with some images that are known to build the
thumbnails on the other machine
do the same on one of your other machines and start KPA in the same way
on both.

Then have a look at ~/.config/kphotoalbumrc on the working and on the
crashing machine:
somewhere further down, the thumnail-sizes are listet for each album:

Is there a size for the crashing machine?
Are the screens the same size? (KPA usually makes the thumbs a size
that somehow fits the screen)

What happens if you copy the kphotoalbumrc from a working machine & and
a working test directory of images to the crashing machine ...

If it really is an issue with KPA itself it must have to do something
with differences between the two machines and how KPA handles this.
Otherwise it would be a problem somewhere else.

Happy hunting, Andreas
