I now have KPA running again.
I filed a bug against the digikam-RPM of Suse:

... I also understood, why the kface packages had been present again:
I installed them (again), when I tried to compile the git version of KPA.
[Did I mention something about "too late" ? ;-(]
Relieved to understand the reason - I don't like unexplainable stuff ...

Looks like a problem with the digikam-libs package to me...
