Hello all,

we are planning on making a new release of KPhotoAlbum as you all are
probably aware of. I have been going through the bug reports fixing
most of the ones I think must be fixed for the next release and
closing a bunch that has been fixed before. A bit of help from the
community would be appreciated for the rest few that should be
addressed before the next release:

1) https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293186
Crash when arranging thumbnails. Note that removing the Q_ASSERT is
not a fix for this as it only points out that the moving algorithm is
buggy and should be fixed. With moving working properly the Q_ASSERT
should not trigger.

2) https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284667
When NewImageFinder is running and main window is closed - a crash occurs

We do also have a lengthy patch for selecting images based on
geoposition. Someone should test the patch out and see that it works
as intended (hopefully the patch won't require any tweaking to apply).
I have not looked into it as I do not have a single image with
coordinates in it. If the patch works great we might consider
including it into next release even though the plan was not to bring
in anymore new features.

patch: http://bugsfiles.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=39521

There are a few more bug reports with patches included, but the
patches require some more work. I do not consider these critical for
the next release but if we have people willing to tune them up as the
discussion in the patch report instructs including them would
naturally be one more step to the right direction.

relocate/open new database

warning during multi-image annotation if description data is to be overwritten

handle file write errors

Now would also be a good time to check out your archives if you have
ready patches that should be included. I know there has been many
patches sent to the mailing list in the past and some of them might
have been forgotten, and some others are probably still waiting to be
sent...
