[KPhotoAlbum] Compiling recent KPhotoAlbum for Debian Lenny

Hello,

First take a look into checkinstall (apt-get install checkinstall). That is supposed to be a tool to track what make install does and make debian package out of it. I have never used it but it sounds like the easy (and correct) way to go.

If that wont do the trick; I have used two different tricks to upgrade source packages for my own use.

First approach is to use source package from unstable release and hack the dependencies to match stable distro.

The other is to use the source package for my distro but patch it with newer sources.

Either approach might be quite painful or very simple, you newer know until you try. Then there is the option of compiling stuff under /opt or under /usr/local but I do also try to avoid that.
