Well the principal rework would be the exceptions and the attention I have to put on the IPTC string size.

libkexiv2 is a QT like interface, more easy to use than pure C++ using exception. Moreother libkexiv2 does all the check of IPTC string size.

Would it be a lot of work to rework it to just using exiv2? IU'd hate yet 
another dependency for no reason.
