Yes.  I actually use Madman, not Amarok, which has a somewhat more extensive 
metadata set and fancier options in the search, but Amarok also implements 
the same general concept.

My thoughts exactly.  I don't want to replace the existing search features, 
just add a new one.

That said, adding a new search option isn't completely risk-free: it may lead 
new users to miss the existence of the advanced search.  Personally I rarely 
use the advanced search anyway, I tend to filter with the date bar and by 
drilling down through categories.
