| Do I understand you mail correct, that the searching for images part takes

OK. I've profiled this now.
The time consuming part of rescanning for new images (when you have loads of 
images with lots of tags) is that at the end of rescanning KPA goes "home", 
which means calculating amount of items per category etc.
