Once, when I noticed they weren't in chronological order.

No.  I just want them chronologically, the categories take care of the rest.

In fact, I occasionally accidentally start dragging pictures when
selecting, and it's a bother.  I'd rather that any click-and-drag from
picture to picture selects that range of pictures.
