// TODO file
- make it possible to specify a pattern for directories to ignore, say .thumbs

I would recommand to follow the recommandation from freedesktop.org
http://www.brynosaurus.com/cachedir/
ie, to
1) put a file named "CACHEDIR.TAG" in the "ThumbNails" and
"CategoryImage" folders,
2) don't scan for pictures in a directory containing such a file

My motivation for this, is that a lot of Kimdaba users are also digikam users
(the reverse is also true). Since the new version, Digikam is able to represent
a hierarchy of folders, not only the top level directories like before.
That's fine, but now, if you use Kimdaba, you will see 50 albums named
"ThumbNails" in digikam album's list, and that's not exactly nice.

I've asked Ranchi about this, he acknowledged the problem, but said he can
not make an exception for a specific application.

So the solution is that Kimdaba does 1) and 2) and digikam does 2)

Problem : this very necessary specification is only "moderately stable"
at the moment, see the webpage for details :
