Bug ID: 299189
Severity: major
Version: unspecified
Priority: NOR
Assignee: korganizer-devel at kde.org
Summary: When the "Apply" button is activated in the Calendar
application of KDE Kontact in order to save the
current event being entered, the application attempts
to send e-mail messages without asking for
confirmation.
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
Reporter: sayeed.ka at gmail.com
Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Component: general
Product: korganizer
1. When and event is being created or edited, it becomes necessary to save the
edited event without sending it to any party by activating the "Apply" button.
2. However, whenever the "Apply" button is activated, the Calendar application
attempts to send e-mail messages to the parties contained in the address list
without asking for confirmation. Please note that in the older versions of KDE
Kontact, all KDE Kontact applications (Calendar, To-do, and Journal) always
asked for confirmation. The same feature needs to be reintroduced into this
version of KDE Kontact.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create and event.
2. Make some entries into the event form.
3. Make some entries into the address list in the event form.
4. Activate the "Apply" button.
5. Observe the mail sending notifications put out by the application.
Actual Results:
1. Same as described in the "Details" section of this report.
Expected Results:
1. Should ask for confirmation before sending any messages about the event to
other parties.
1. The Calendar application of KDE Kontact seems to keep on creating duplicates
of an event whenever the "Apply" button in the Calendar from is activated. This
was not the case with earlier versions of this application.
