Summary: Nepomuk search service not registered at D-Bus on
                    startup
           Product: korganizer
           Version: 0.9
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: korganizer-devel at kde.org
        ReportedBy: mourka at comcast.net

Version: 0.9 (using KDE 4.4.6)
OS: Linux

NOTE: Actual KDE version is 4.4.9. This did not appear on your KDE version
list...

When I started Kontact, a window opened [Akonadi Server Self Test-Kontact] with
18 items on a checklist. All have green checks except;

['X' below means a red 'X' appears on the checklist]
['V' below means a blue checkmark appears on the checklist]

DETAIL:
The custom configuration for the MySQL server was not found but is optional.

#12 X Nepomuk search service not registered at D-Bus on startup
DETAIL:
The Nepomuk search service is not registered at D-Bus which typically means it
was not started or encountered a fatal error during startup.

#13 V Protocol version check not possible
DETAIL:
Without a connection to the server it is not possible to check if the protocol
version meets the requirements.
==============
I will look for the 'FEDERATED' plugin (above).

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Turn off Kontact.
Restart the system.
Restart Kontact.

Actual Results:
I get the Akonadi Server Self Test-Kontact checklist window, with two red X's
and two blue checks, as described above. When I close the checklist, Kontact
seems to work well, but occasionally hangs, requiring a force quit.

Kontact has done this since my Ubuntu 10.04 system crashed, requiring me to
restore from backup. The first few times I tried to start it, the checklist
came up with most items as red X's-- Kontact seems to have mostly fixed itself
since then (probably from bug fixes included in Ubuntu updates)-- Truly an
amazing feature!

Expected Results:
I would like Kontact to start without the checklist, or at least with all
checkmarks green...

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.35-32-generic
Compiler: cc
