--- Comment #2 from Terry Coles <kdebugs hadrian-way co uk> 2011-11-25 13:37:12 ---
I'd forgotten that I'd flagged this bug. I've fixed my installation, but it
was a long and painful road.

I think the problem arose when I upgraded Kubuntu to V 11.04, although I didn't
notice it until much later, so I can't be sure. I tried a re-installation of
Kontact, to no avail, even when I deleted my config and other realated files in
.kde.

I then decided to ignore it and wait for 11.10, which didn't fix the problem at
all. Upgrading to 11.10 brought a whole lot of other grief, so I tried a clean
install, which fixed much of the other grief, but not this.

I then bit the bullet and deleted my /home directory completely and did another
clean install. This fixed the problem, even when I re-imported my calendar and
other Kontact files from the backups.

So I know how to fix the problem, but not the bug. I can only say that there
must have been a config file I didn't find that was making the calendar
read-only, but I have no idea where.

Hope this helps. Even if you don't end up having to go to the lengths I did,
it might trigger some ideas about the root cause of the problem.
