Summary: Drag and drop of mail to korganizer symbol should
create meaningful event
Product: korganizer
Version: 4.7
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: korganizer-devel at kde.org
ReportedBy: grauscho at web.de
Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux
Once upon a time, it was possible to drag and drop a mail to the korganizer
icon. Then, an event was created and the mail's subject was used as title, the
mail's body as description of the event. Then, this nice feature was broken.
Some version later, it was at least possible to create a event, then, to drag
and drop the mail to the event's attachment field and thereby create a link
between mail and event. However, this feature is now broken, too.
Currently, there seems to exist no way to link events and mails.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Kontact. Switch to KMail within Kontact.
2. Drag a mail on the Korganizer icon on the sidebar.
Actual Results:
A new event is created. The title of the event is something like
"akonadi:?item=50338&type=message%2Frfc822"
which is utter meaningless to the user. Allt the other fields of the event are
empty. It is by no means possible to link the mail to the event. Only file
attachments are supported.
Expected Results:
The event created should have the mail's subject as title and the mail's body
as description. Attachments to the mail should also be linked from the event.
Additionally, it should be possible to link multiple mails to an event by
dragging and dropping them to the event's attachment field.
Not sure whether to file this as bug, but it seems to be a repeated regression.
