I am seeing this bug as well with Debian unstable 4:4.4.3-1 of kdepim.

Any modifications to a Task item either checking the completed checkbox or
altering the percent complete of a task causes repeated synchronizations with
my disconnected IMAP account.  The only way to stop it is to quit either
korganizer or kontact and restart.  Once it is restarted, the task appears to
be modified correctly.

However, using the right click button to delete the task does NOT cause the
repeated synchronizations.  Deleting a task this way seems to work correctly.
