I have a weekly recurring event (in remote ICS).

1) I inserted a new exception for it and saved the calendar - the event was
removed from that day as it should have
2) I opened the event again, removed the exception and saved the calendar - the
event is still not shown on that day.
3) I restarted KOrganizer, but it's still not shown on that date

It actually seems that doing this made this event quite fragile in means of
KOrganizer. KOrganizer now crashes frequently when adding/removing exceptions
and trying to save the event. I'll to get some backtraces..
