Workaround is currently to startup akonadi earlier. Just add following to
$HOME/.kde/Autostart/force-akonadistart.sh

#! /bin/sh
/usr/bin/akonadictl start 

and then mark it executable using `chmod +x
$HOME/.kde/Autostart/force-akonadistart.sh`

Now restart your re-login and maybe you will receive upcoming alarms (but the
past is still past and gone forever)
