You are right, I retested this today and realized that for testing purposes I
selected the 'Only category' radio button in the Configure - KOrganizer
dialogue (View icon, Agenda tab and Color Usage section) which prevented the
color associated with the calendar to be displayed.

I retested this today with the default Color Usage option (Category inside,
calendar outside) and now I can see that it works so I am closing this bug.
