I've just trying the new caldav plugin for kde 4.3.1 with akonadi.
10 calendars registered ( hosted by a davical server ) are loaded very quickly.
(bunch of seconds compare to 2 minutes 15 for sunbird 1.0-pre )

I'm waiting the write access, (sorry I can't participate directly to
developpement ) but can test many things.

It would be nice to be able to give the ressource a choosed name instead of
default akonadi name ( exemple blue,red,green,black for the name of calendar
which are actually name akonadi_ressource_2 .... ) 

I think it's important, when write would be able, to create a new event and
choose in which calendar it would be registered ; the selection would be easier
for human.
Don't know if it's already exist in upstream code.
