I'm getting this too on 4.2.90. The same happens if starting korganizer
directly (i.e. not from within kontact). When an akonadi resource is enabled,
KOrganizer freezes as described above.

In addition to the above, the Akonadi log shows multiple lines of:

ItemRetrieverException :  Unable to retrieve item from resource: Did not
receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a
reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout
expired, or the network connection was broken.
