there just isn't enough information here to debug with.

Neal, can you create a test appt with a reminder. say an hour from now.
if the reminder doesn't display, then send me the relevant event from your
std.ics file in .kde/share/apps/korganizer.

I need all the lines between the starting BEGIN:VEVENT and the END:VEVENT in
the std.ics file.  It helps to give the test appt a strange summary like
"FOOBAR" to make searching in your std.ics file a little easier.
