Talked to the developers in #kontact/IRC, appears to be Kubuntu-related (works
in KOrganizer 4.2.2 in Fedora)

There is, however, a workaround (thanks Sergio!):
Move the mouse clos to the bottom border of the calendar view that is not being
displayed, it should change to resize mouse pointer. Hold left mouse button and
resize the calendar to its proper size.
