Update:
I tried to quit Kontact with the KOrganizer plugin from the menu by
 "File"->"Quit". This way, the above setting was saved an the calendar view was
as before quitting.
The problem with saving the KOrganizer view settings seems to be in case of
shutting down Kontact/KOrganizer together with KDE without quitting them
explicitely, is that possible?
