           Summary: To-Do List duplicate records
           Product: korganizer
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Mandriva RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: korganizer-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: cyril.cathcart sympatico ca

Version: 3.5.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs
OS: Linux

When I create a new To-Do item a duplicate of that item is displayed in the To-Do list.
I can use any method to create the a new item. I can select from the menu, use the toolbar button or use the alternate short menu. There are no problems creating the item.
When I have entered the data in the To-Do list dialogue box and click the OK button the item seems to be created normally. It appears on the To-Do list.
About 5 seconds later another item with the same title appears right below it on the To-Do list.
Both of the listings point to the same underlying records. If I open the original item, edit it and save it. The duplicate item displayed below it will be updated too. I can open the record by clicking on the duplicated listing, edit it and save it and then I can see the changes if I open the original listing.
Things do not go as smoothly if I try to delete one of the listings.
If I select the original item listed I can delete it. I do get a confirmation dialogue reminding me that it will be permanently deleted.
When the original listing disappears from the To-Do list, the duplicate item stays on the list.
It looks as if the underlying record has been deleted because if I try to open this remaining ("duplicate") item I get a 'Sorry - Kontact' dialogue box which tells me "Unable to edit item: it is locked by another process"
When I click the 'OK' button in that dialogue box an 'Event Viewer-Kontact' dialogue box pops up and shows me some details about the item (Title, Due Date, Priority, Completed % and Creation date).
When I click on the OK button in that dialogue box I am returned to the To-Do list.
I can delete that item from the list.
If I create a new item, wait for the duplicate to be created and then delete one of them I will get the standard confirmation dialogue box advising me that it will be permanently deleted. If I click OK the item I selected will be removed from the list. If I select the remaining "duplicate" item and delete it rather than trying to open it the same thing will happen. I will get a confirmation dialogue and the item will be deleted.
I recently upgraded from Mandriva Spring 2007 to Mandriva 2008.
In Mandriva Spring 2007 I noticed a similar problem with KNote. In Mandria 2008 there is no longer a problem with KNotes being duplicated.
