Summary: Quick timezone converter on time inputs
Product: korganizer
Version: unspecified
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: crash

Version: 3.5.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
The New Event and New To-Do forms have inputs for times. The times accept local times. However, sometimes you receive notification of events in terms of another time-zone. It would be nice to have the invitation times converted directly to local time. For instance, you read a blog about an upcoming IRC chat at 6:00 PM GMT on some date. I now want to put a reminder in my organizer and block out the time.
A couple of ways this could be implemented:
1) Accept the timezone as part of the time input field, so if I enter "6:00PM GMT" in the input, it will parse the timezone, and convert to local time on leaving the field.
2) A small button next to the time fields, which pops up a timezone converter. When you click it, it pops up a converter, where you enter the published time and zone. When you close it, the associated time field is filled in with the converted local time. This pop-up might also have to carry in the associated date field. Hmmm... The associated date field may also have to be updated on the convert to local time. That's true on option one also.
