I marked it as invalid because there is nothing to fix, the options to do what
you want are already there. If we needed to do code something to do it but we
decided it is not possible or it would cause more troubles than fixes then that
would be a wontfix.

Just a correction, the shortcut to alternate between "away" and "online" is
Ctrl+Shift+W.
