Please can you confirm if knotify has or not has this problem in your computer?

By the way, Kopete has two notifications for incomming messages, one for when
the chat window is opened and other for when it is not. Of course to behave
like you want you should configure the first incomming notification to do not
open a context menu and the second one to open a context menu. Do you have that
configuration set up?
