also big +1 for adding the irc support. now on kde 4.6. 

Has anyone managed to build the new_irc from svn? 
kopete-plugin-irc solution would need porting to up-to-date release of
libircclient-qt (now 0.5, last working is 0.3.2) 

I would be very happy in this issue got some solution already.
