Not sure how to get a backtrace...but I ran kopete in console and can display
to you the following, maybe it will help:

An output of the konsole when running kopete from terminal...

How to reproduce, start yahoo and try to connect with a specific name and I
receive the error "The password was wrong. Please re-enter your password for
Yahoo account <x>"  Where x is the name in question.
