I agree that it sounds like bug # 190662. That one was filed quite a long time
after this one, though, so perhaps it should be marked as a dupe of this one?
(Isn't that the rule? that later reports of the same bug are the ones marked as
dupes?)

It is odd that this bug is still marked unconfirmed.

FWIW, it probably should come as no surprise that this bug is still present in
kopete 1.0.0 with KDE 4.4.2. (kubuntu lucid, 64-bit).
