[kopete-bugs] [Bug 228527] Activating the option "Animate on message with open chat" doesn't work like it used to in 4.3.4. Kopete's system tray icon doesn't animate anymore upon receiving new messages on open, unfocused/minimized chat windows.

Same here, running Gentoo.

And 'mng' flag is enabled as per http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161800#c7
