And the problem still persists. 

As I understand this is about how invisible isn't managed by most jabber
servers at all, and commonly perceived as not supported by the xmpp protocol.

Still: even reverting to 'online visible' for the jabber accounts would be
preferable. It would be fantastic to set the initial state of connection by an
on account basis.
