Summary: Messages with URLs are delayed when containing URLs
Product: kopete
Version: unspecified
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kopete-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: mdhirsch at mail.com
Version: (using KDE 4.3.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
Whenever I join a jabber chatroom, kopete reloads the messages. (I think these
are sent from the chatroom server, but I'm not sure.) The messages then
display in order, except for any messages with URLs in them.
For each message with a URL I get a notification in the KDE notifier that a job
is being run. The job has something to do with the URL--maybe it is
downloading the file?.
The messages with URLs end up at the end of the chatroom message
list--presumably because checking the website takes some time and delays the
message from getting into the chatroom window.
The message just contain the URL, not the contents of the URL. I can't think
of a reason that the URL needs to be checked in any way. These message should
just appear in the kopete chatroom, the same as any other message.
This is not a recent problem. It's been around at least since I switched to
KDE 4 around 4.2.
