I suffer from the same problem and it also started after adding Facebook via
XMPP.

I think it could be related to bug 126898
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126898) but in my case the whole
metacontact is moved to the root group not only the Facebook ones. Anyway, it's
quite frustrating.
