The watchdog seems to wait for ACKs to arrive within 15 seconds by default. I
haven't looked at it all too much, but from what I've seen, it adds little
value. A TCP socket will detect a broken connection on system level and should
raise an appropriate error.

I'm now running a build of 1.0.0 with the watchdog disabled for Jabber. Let's
see how that works out.

And just while I'm writing this, the watchdog kicked me off MSN.
