I'm not sure if this is only with the Bonjour protocol as that's the only
protocol I've been using for a while. I'll post back if I find out more about
it.

I don't know if this is useful information, but I've noticed that I can
manually edit the name and include the "Ö" which then shows up fine. But I need
to do that every time that person logs off and back on.
