I have similar problems in Dolphin as well as in Kopete. I want to add the
forward button to the main toolbar of Dolphin, but it doesn't appear. I tried
to remove a button, but even that didn't do anything at all.

So I guess this problem could be not directly related to kopete, but more basic
code. There doesn't appear any relevant looking messages in .xsession-errors.

I am using KDE 4.3.1 on Gentoo.
