I was able to solve the problem by logging out of KDE completely, deleting all
the cache items I could find in /tmp & /var/tmp, the kopete session rc, and
then logging in. I'm running kopete 0.70.90, KDE 4.3.0 on FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE
p3.
