I've also got this problem for a while now. Currently running Kopete Version
0.80.2 using KDE 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2) on Fedora 12 beta but I've had the problem
with earlier versions too (KDE 4.3.1 on Fedora 11 for example).

The protocol I'm using is Jabber. I don't know (and are currently not able to
test) if it applies to other protocols too.

Also it doesn't seem like it's distro specific unless Fedora is having the same
problem as Ubuntu. ;-)
