Summary: "a user has added you to contactlist" messages of
little use
Product: kopete
Version: 0.80.2
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kopete-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: kde-bugs at ginguppin.de
Version: 0.80.2 (using 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.5
occasionally i get a popup saying "user XXXXX has added you to his contact
list" (or to that effect.). it's not displayed what protocol or account the
message refers to, but from the username i infer it must be icq.
this poses two questions:
- in my icq account i have enabled "Require authorization before someone can
add you to their contact list". and, yet, i never get such an request. how is
it possible, that someone can add my nevertheless?
- where do i disable at least tha popup? the information as such is useless,
because i can't do anything about that, but it usually interrupts my work. the
only entry somewhat close is "A service message has been received (e.g.
authorization request)", which is far to broad -- if someone indeed _requests_
authorization, i need to see taht of course. but i don't need these mere
informational messages, when yet another icq spammer has done something.
