Same for me using kopete Version 0.70.90 on KDE 4.2.90 (KDE 4.3 Beta2). For
some strange reason my jabber connection often breaks without kopete indicating
that there has been a disconnect. It still shows my contacts with online status
but there are no more incoming messages until I manually reconnect to the
jabber server. The messages that where sent to me in that strange state are
lost so that people have to resent their writings. This does not seem to happen
with ICQ at least in that silent way. If icq disconnects it instantly
reconnects itself.

Maybe its of help to note that I use ssl and otr on my conversations.

Hope this will be fixed soon because it happens really often to me.
