Can reproduce with Kopete 0.70.2 on KDE 4.2.3 (Archlinux x86_64 KDEmod
packages). 

For me:
-the sound is also truncated when triggered by a notification (not just with
the preview)
-the sound length varies slightly every time
-ogg files work fine
