I doubt the regression is due to any change in Kopete.  It's probably due to
protocol changes by Yahoo and MSN.

I'm not sure how you would have seen it was working in KDE4...  I've tested
pretty much every version for the last two years on multiple systems, and it's
always been broken for 90+% of that time.  Maybe it worked for you because you
were testing Kopete to Kopete?  As there's no developer actively maintaining
the cam compatibility, there doesn't appear to be any fix coming soon.
