When a client replies with a feature-not-implemented, the server should stop
sending requests (or ping here).

To keep the connection alive, kopete sends keep-alive blank packets. This
packet is sent every 55 seconds (connections are often considered dead after 1
minute if no communication has been detected).

Does your connection times out before the 55 seconds keep alive packet is sent
?
