I am seeing this bug in Kubuntu 8.10, using Kopete 0.60.3, using KDE 4.1.3. 
I'm seeing approximately the same traceback as has previously been reported,
and only when connecting to my companys Openfire server, with 100+ contacts on
it.  My connection to jabber.org seems to work without issue.

I will try to download and compile a kopete to give a more complete backtrace.
