Kopete 4.2.0 wastes space by showing my identities as a list rather than
statusbar icons. For someone with at least one identity on every protocol
(three on Jabber/XMPP because of connectivity issues and Kopete 3.5's
unreliable auto-reconnect) and several dozen friends, this is a serious
problem. (No offense, but it's enough to keep me on Kopete 3.5 for now)

Could you please add a toggle in the settings to go back to the old way?
