           Summary: System tray icon doesn't automatically hide as
                    expected
           Product: kopete
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kopete-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: marcus at harrisonland.co.uk

Version:            (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

Currently, when the auto-hiding policy for the Kopete system tray icon is
selected, it shows all the time. Ideally, this behaviour would be forced
through the, "Always Show" policy. Additionally, the Kopete icon would always
be hidden, apart from the following cases:

1. Kopete is attempting to connect to a protocol;
2. An error has occurred when connecting (this would hide the icon again after
a few seconds, similar to a notification);
3. An incoming message has been received;
4. Some notification that sits within the Kopete contacts window is received,
such as someone adding you as a friend.
