I noticed that scsa.msg.yahoo.com resolves to different hosts in different
locations.

Here, in Bangalore - India, it resolves to:
rrs at champaran:~$ ping scsa.msg.yahoo.com
PING scsa.msg.yahoo.com (68.180.217.19) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from cs114.msg.sp1.yahoo.com (68.180.217.19): icmp_seq=1 ttl=49
time=338 ms
64 bytes from cs114.msg.sp1.yahoo.com (68.180.217.19): icmp_seq=2 ttl=49
time=332 ms


Where as in my server in San Diego:
rrs at web1:~$ ping scsa.msg.yahoo.com
PING scsa.msg.yahoo.com (76.13.15.39) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from cs111.msg.ac4.yahoo.com (76.13.15.39): icmp_seq=1 ttl=56
time=77.7 ms
64 bytes from cs111.msg.ac4.yahoo.com (76.13.15.39): icmp_seq=2 ttl=56
time=78.7 ms


Is there a way to check the version of the messenger server ?
