At least for me, it does not appear to be a "core" bug. I can connect to the
same server from another installation of the same packages without the issue
cropping up, so I guess it's either something in the user settings or something
left-over from old versions in the system files.

I will play around with the user profile a bit, up to deleting the existing
profile files and see if that helps.
