I had the same problem. The cryptography plugin is not installed as it is not
currently not available for debian.

In version 0.70.4 the problem seems to be half fixed. At least the user is
informed that an encrypted message has been received. However, I don't
understand why the message is not displayed, the encrypted message is just
ASCII text like every other message. If it would be displayed, then I could at
least encrypt it using kgpg.
