I can confirm this with KAWAII Radio, playing many songs with japanese
characters in the title. Stream is at http://kawaii-radio.net/listen.m3u

On update of the jabber-status from the 'now listening' plugin, all affected
connections get closed. Exact error message:

"There was an error in the protocol stream: Malformed stream packet received."

I also use amaroK. I'm not sure about other players, I don't have any others
from the list.
